Private psychological/psycho-educational evaluations conducted by Dr. Walinsky
Dr. Walinsky evaluates students of all ages, from preschool (i.e., kindergarten readiness) to post-graduate school licensure exams (i.e., testing accommodations for students with documented disabilities). She sees students from all types of school settings, ranging from public, private/independent, religious day schools and homeschools.
Often times, parents/students struggle to figure out what is interfering with performance. As parents, we want to ensure that our children are happy and successful in whatever they do and that they are achieving up to their fullest capability. Maybe it's the way they learn, processes information, behaves, performs at school or interacts socially that concerns us (or the teachers).
Through an evaluation, valuable insights into some of the underlying complexities that are contributing to these difficulties can be objectively identified. Evaluations often lead to explanations, answers, and more importantly, directions of how to best address these concerns.
Dr. Walinsky's approach to assessments is very comprehensive. She takes into account not only how a student performs on the tests, but why they performed that way. And, rather than focusing on what is "wrong," Dr. Walinsky values each individual's strengths, taking the "whole person" into account.
For student's traveling from out of town, arrangements are made to help minimize visits, such as conducting sessions in consecutive days with afternoon and then morning appointments the following day.
